RAMS Way
RAMS Way focuses on developing and improving positive behaviors through the use of common developmentally-appropriate language and expectations.
The RAMS Way initiative spells out the acronym for a common set of behavioral expectations shared across the district that includes:
Respectful
Accountable
Motivated
Safe
Students learn what it means to be Respectful, Accountable, Motivated and Safe in various areas of each school building, including the cafeteria, hallways, bathrooms, attendance and on the bus.
Expectations are developmentally modified to fit each grade span. The district trains building-level teams on roles and responsibilities. Team members develop behavioral matrices and lesson plans specific to each building and individual environment (e.g., hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, bathrooms, attendance and buses). All schools highlight individual incentive programs to acknowledge and reward positive behavior.
