Principal's Message—February 27, 2026

Happy Friday RES Families,

We are wrapping up this short but wonderful month of February with so much to celebrate! Here is a look at what we’ve been up to and a glimpse at what’s coming next.

This month, our RAMS Way focus was all about Friendship. We worked with students on practical ways to show respect and kindness, including: Using our "listening ears," Including new peers in our activities, and practicing fun, welcoming greetings.

While we celebrate our diverse community every day, this month we put a special spotlight on Black History Month and the Lunar New Year. Our hallways were filled with vibrant displays, and students engaged with the themes through morning announcement videos, read-alouds, and classroom research projects. As a great home connection, we encourage you to continue this learning at home by asking your student to share a favorite story or fact they discovered this month!
PTO hosted a fun Penny Wars competition which raised over $800 for the PTO! They support our upcoming field trips, all of the assemblies, including Mad Science we had this month, as well as other building enhancements. Thanks to everyone who donated!

Upcoming: Open House & Heart Ball

We can’t wait to welcome you back into the building for our Open House next week! Our hallways and classrooms are currently overflowing with art and projects that our students are so proud to share. We will see families of kindergarten and 2nd grade students on Tuesday, and families of 1st and 3rd grade students on Thursday, both from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.

What to expect at Open House:

• Student Work: Teachers will have specific tasks or portfolios ready for you to explore with your child
• Building Access: For safety purposes, please note that the gym and auditorium will remain off-limits

A Quick Reminder for Both Events: To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time at the Heart Ball and Open House, we ask that:

• Students remain with their adults at all times.
• Everyone follows the RAMS Way by using indoor voices, using walking feet, and being respectful of the student work on display.

We truly appreciate your cooperation and the incredible hard work of our staff and PTO to make these events possible. I can’t wait to see you all there!
